Blackened Ahi Tuna

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ahi tuna
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
  • half lime
  • Cajun or blackened seasoning
  • arugula
Corn Relish
  • 2 cobs of corn, grilled and cut
  • 1 diced avocado
  • 1/2 cup red onion
  • 1/4 cup diced red pepper
  • half lime
  • cilantro, to taste
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

In a bowl, add soy sauce and rice wine vinegar. Place tuna in the soy sauce mixture and marinate for 15 minutes.

Remove tuna from the marinade and pat dry with a paper towel.

Season liberally with Cajun or blackened seasoning.

On a Wolf Burner in a medium, non-stick pan over high heat, add the sesame oil and let it heat up. The oil is reading when it begins to smoke.

Add tuna to the pan and sear on high heat for about 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on each side.

To prepare the corn relish, combine corn, avocado, red onion, red pepper, lime juice, cilantro, salt, and pepper.

Combine the arugula, lime, salt, and pepper.

Remove the tuna from the pan and slice to serve.

Lay down the arugula mixture, then tuna, and top with the corn mixture.
