Shrimp Scampi

Introduction
Buttery shrimp scampi are easy to make as an appetizer with your favorite toasted bread. this would also be great over pasta to make it an entree. However you prepare it, it is sure to be one that you come back to.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 4 garlic cloves, sliced thin
- 1 minced shallot
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
- 2 pound shrimp, shelled
- 1/3 cup chopped parsley
- 1 table spoon lemon juice
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large skillet, melt a tablespoon butter. Add garlic and shallot, sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add wine and red pepper flakes. Let wine reduce by half, about 2 minutes.
Add shrimp and sauté 2 to 4 minutes depending upon their size they will turn pink . Stir in the parsley and lemon juice and slowly stir in remaining 4 tablespoons of butter 1 tablespoon at a time this will thicken your sauce a bit.
