Introduction

A Cortadito is a Cuban espresso drink that is similar to the Spanish Cortado in that it is a 50/50 mix of espresso and milk. The difference between the two is that the Cortadito is made with a sweetened espresso. This drink will even make coffee haters rethink some things.

Ingredients

  • 2 shots espresso
  • 2 teaspoons of sugar
  • 1/4 cup steamed milk

Instructions

Add the sugar to the cup and set it aside. Into a small measuring cup, make a double shot of espresso using the Wolf Coffee Maker.

To prepare the espuma, pour a very small amount of espresso into sugar and stir aggressively with a spoon until it becomes light and fluffy. (When creating the espuma, add just enough coffee to wet the sugar. It will be a thick, grainy paste at first, but don’t worry, once the sugar dissolves it will loosen up.)

Add the remaining espresso to the cup and stir to combine. Top with steamed milk.

To make a cafecito instead of a cortadito, just leave out the steamed milk.

To finish the Cortadito, remove the water spout on the Wolf Coffee System. Replace with the milk container and place the cup with the espresso underneath the milk spout. Press the Latte button and scroll, using the arrows, until you see Frothed Milk. Press Enter to start the milk, and press Enter again to stop the milk.
